Because orthopaedic surgery and post-surgical rehabilitation have their own unique strengths in the healing process, there is no approach more efficient than the combination of both. That's why many area doctors refer their pre- and post-surgical patients to The Smith Clinic for Physical Therapy. Our licensed physical therapists have more than 25 years of combined experience and offer expert rehabilitation physical therapy services designed to get you back to work, life and play... again.
To help you return to function after surgery, we will develop a customized program based on your specific condition with the goal of helping you maximize your function and preventing reinjury. And you’ll always have the same therapist right beside you on your journey to recovery. We treat the full spectrum of musculoskeletal injuries, including, but not limited to:
We will provide your doctor with detailed notes on your condition and follow his or her recommended protocols. In addition, we will make ourselves available should your doctor have any questions or concerns. This "team" approach helps produce an effective and customized program to help you recover and prevent reinjury.
Our licensed physical therapists can also work with you prior to surgery to help ensure the success of the procedure. In some cases, flexibility, mobility or range of motion needs to be improved prior to surgical repair. Physical therapy can also alleviate certain problems that might complicate the procedure. In other cases, physical therapy prior to surgery may be able to minimize the scope of the operation or even help you avoid it.
For more information about how our caring, highly trained physical therapy team can help you get past your surgery and get back to the most normal function possible, please call The Smith Clinic today at (901) 756-1650.
